It was the 71^st Regiment, in red and blue. Followed by the 76^th Regiment of Scottish Highlanders, in red and blue. Then came the 80^th Regiment, in red and blue. Followed by the Artillery Corps, in blue uniforms, with red epaulets and lapels, as well as golden aiguillettes on their hats etc. Then came the Volunteer Corps called Tarleton, with their [Leith-has][211], who had, however, stayed in Gloucester.

Welche waren das 71te Regimen t, roth und blau. Nach diesem folgte das 76 Regimen t Bergschotten, roth und blau. Wiedrum ware das 80te Regiment roth und blau. Nach diesem kame das Artillerie Corps, ihre Uniform blau mit rothen Klappen und Aufschlägen nebst goldnen Tressen auf ihren Hüthen etc. Wiedrum ware das Frey-Kohr Tarleton genandt nebst deren Leith-has welche aber zu Gloßester verblieben.

Finally came the Chasseurs, also called elite marksmen, from Hesse and Anspach, in green uniforms, with red lapels etc. As soon as they handed over their rifles and their arms, they returned to the city empty-handed; they were held prisoner there by the French and American troops.

Zum Beschluß kamen die Hessische und Anspacher Jäger oder Scharfschützen genandt, ihre Uniform grün mit rothen Aufschlägen etc. Sobald sie ihre Gewehr und Waffen abgelegt hatten, kamen sie wiedrum mit leerer Hand zu-rück in die Stadt in Prissonen und gleich verwachet durch französische und americanische Truppen.

As for the corps of officers, they could, on their word of honor, go where they wanted. The captured army only stayed a few days in York, and was then transferred to the provinces of Maryland or Pennsylvania, in the region of Friedrichsberg and in Friedrichsberg itself. But each regiment had to send two officers into captivity, the others went to New York and England, or to other areas of America that were still under English control[212].

Es mußten aber von jedem Regiment 2 Officirs mit in Gefangenschafft gehen, die andren aber gingen nach Neuyorck und nach Engelland und sonst dergleichen Orter in America, welche die Engelländer noch besetzt hatten.
