On the 9^th, we left the African coasts and the Barbary Coast etc.

On the 10^th, we passed near Spain and Portugal[371]. With good winds just like we hoped for. Around noon that day we once again came across monstrous fish called dolphins that are marvelous to behold, just like the show they put on.

Den 10ten kamen wir in die Höhe von Spanien und Portügall. Mit gutem Wind nach Wunsch und Willen. Heute gegen Mittag traffen wir wiedrum in der Menge ungeheure grosse Fische an mit Namens Souffleurs genandt welche wunderbahrlich seyn zu sehen, wie auch ihre Manöwres die sie machten.

On the 11^th, the horizon was a little misty once again, but we had had good winds for several days.

Den 11ten zeigte sich der Horizont wiedrum etwas neblicht, doch aber behielten wir einige Tage lang guten Wind.

On the 14^th, good winds again. Around 4 o’clock in the afternoon the captain of the ship began studying the nautical map in order to know how far we still were from land.

Den 14ten noch guten Wind. Gegen 4 Uhr nach Mittag finge der Schiff-Capitaine an die Wasser- Karte aufzuschlagen um zu sehen wie weit wir noch vom Lande entfernet seyn.

He found that we were still 146 hours from Brest in France where we had orders to arrive and disembark.

Er fande nach der See-Karte daß wir noch 146 Stunde biß nach Prest in Franckreich allwo unsre Ordre hin laudete auszuschiffen.

The ship captain announced that we still had 2 days of travel before reaching Brest if the winds kept up; but if the winds were worse it would take 5 to 6 days or more.

Der Schiff-Capitaine sagte uns, daß wir noch 2 Tag zu fahren hätten biß nach Prest wann wir den nemlichen Wind behalten ; wäre aber der Wind nicht gut so hätten wir noch 5 biß 6 Tag Reisse und auch noch länger.
