The trees are of a good size and stand elegantly. The trunks, branchless, are totally smooth and point upwards. These trees do not have branches like other trees; also their fruits grow along the trunk, on very small twigs. These coconuts are even edible! They have a shell like all nuts, except it is thick. They are filled entirely with a white core, the middle is hollow and filled with a liquid that is white like milk and very sweet to drink.

Die Blätter davon seyn 5 biß 6 Schuhe lang, und ohn-gefähr 8 biß 10 Zoll breit, diese Bäume haben auch keine Aeste wie sonst Bäume. Auch wachsen alle seine Früchten am Stamm, an gantz kleinen Ästlein. Diese Cacao-Nüsse kan man auch essen ! Sie seyn in der Grösse als ein Kinds-Kopf, und auch grösser. Wann man sie aushülgen thut kan man sie sich anstatt einer Flasche bedienen, dann sie halten ins gemein 1, 2, 3, biß 4 Schoppen. Sie haben eine Schale wie nathürliche Nüsse, ausgenommen etwas dicker. Sie seyn gantz ausgefüllet mit einem weißen Kern, in der Mitte etwas hol mit gantz weißen Wasser wie Milch ausgefüllt, welches zuckersüß zu trinken ist.
