We stayed in Port-au-Prince until our departure for France.

Wir verblieben alda zu Porto-Printz biß wir nach Franckreich absegelten.

As for the army or the fleet, it stayed in Puerto Bello until April 10^th before also going to the island of Santo Domingo[365]. Around 7 o’clock in the morning, we set about weighing the anchor and we left the port around 9 o’clock; right away we had very good winds so that about 2 hours after noon we could no longer see the main land.

Was die Armée oder das Escader anbelangete bliebe noch zu Porto-Bello biß den 10ten Avrill allwo man auch von dannen abseegelte nach der Insel Saint-Domingue. Gegen 7 Uhr des Morgens fingen wir an Ancker zu ziehen und fuhren gegen 9 Uhr zum Haffen hinaus, und gleich guten herlichen Wind bekommen, daß wir gegen 2 Uhr nach Mittag kein Land mehr sahen.

On the 11^th, we passed near Petit Bonheur and Curaçao; as for the weather, the winds were rather good and came from the side.

Den 11ten passierten wir die Höhe von Klein-Bonheure und Ciracao, was das Wetter anbelangete ware zimmlich gut mit Seiten-Winde.

On the 12^th, the horizon was a bit misty and the winds very weak, from the northeast, but around midnight that changed and that night, near the morning hours, we once again had good winds from the east.

Den 12ten zeigte sich der Horizont etwas neblicht und mit gantz schwachem Winde von nord-östlicher Seite, welcher sich aber gegen Mitternacht wiedrum verlohren hatte und bekammen selbige Nacht gegen Tag wiedrum guten Wind von östlicher Seite.

On the 13^th, the horizon was once again a bit stormy, and around noon we encountered a small squall that did not last long and did not impede our route that was to take us to St. Domingo.

Den 13ten ware der Horizont wiedrum etwas stürmisch, daß wir gegen Mittag einen kleinen Sturm bekammen welcher aber nicht lang tauerte und uns auch nicht auf unserer Rutt verhinderte, nach der Insul St. Domingue zu seeglen.
