und sagte wir solten machen was wir wolten. Gleich darauf fingen wir an die Stibig und Päcke mit den Axten aufzuhauen und aufzuschlagen um das beste daraus zu nehmen. Wir hatten unsre Säcke so gefüllt daß wir nichts mehr hinein bringen konten. Unter dieser Zeit machten die Engländer Angestallt uns von unsrem Schiff abzuholen.

As soon as their sailors and soldiers arrived at our ship in rowboats to occupy it and to transfer us, we had to come down from the ship and board the rowboats. Then we were taken to the English war ship. As soon as we had arrived on their ship, we were put into two rows and we had to set our sacks down and remove all the equipment that was inside! Then came the helmsman of the ship; he went from one haversack to the next, grabbed all the merchandise and piled it up. Then came the captain of the ship who announced that all the merchandise in our possession would go to the King of England, but our ordinary equipment we could keep, no one would take anything from us.

Sobald sie mit der Schalluppe an unser Schiff kamen mit ihren Matrossen und Soldaten um unser Schiff zu besetzen und uns davon abzuholen, mußten wir alsdann übers Schiff hinunter steigen in die Schalup. Und als dann auf das englische Krieg-Schiff geführet : Sobald wir auf ihr Schiff kamen, wurden wir auf 2 Glieder gestellt und mußten unsre Säcke ab-legen, und die Equipage die wir drinnen hatten aus-packen ! Nach diesem kame der Steuermann vom Schiff und ginge von einem Habersack zum andren nahm alle Kauffmans-Waare hinweg und legte sie über einen Hauffen : Alsdann kam der Schiff- Capitaine und sagte daß alle die Kauffmans-Waare so wir hätten ihrem König von Engeland zufallen thäte, was aber unsre Ordonans-Equipage anbe-langt könten wir behalten, wovon uns kein Mensch nichts nehmen thätte.
