Those trees also have strange bark, like skin, with which one can knit the most beautiful stockings or fabric for shirts and other clothes. It can be worked like hemp or linen, and the inhabitants are dressed mostly with this. Aside from this, they have enough rice and other vegetables etc.

Es läßt sich zubereiten wie der schönste Hanff oder Flachs, mit diesem Zeug kleiden sich die Einwohner mehr-stentheils. Im übrigen haben sie Reiß genug und sonst dergleichen Gewächsen etc.
